Become a Volunteer in the Philippines

Join Venture 2 Impact and Project PEARLS in a unique international volunteering experience that supports women entrepreneurs and frontline staff working to break the cycle of poverty across Metro Manila and Bulacan.
During this three-week immersive program, you’ll share your professional expertise with women building sustainable livelihoods and staff, strengthening the organization’s long-term capacity to serve hundreds of families.

Why Manila?

Metro Manila and Bulacan are among the cities in the Philippines where underserved communities face significant barriers to economic opportunity. Since 2010, Project PEARLS has worked in these communities, helping women entrepreneurs build sustainable livelihoods through handicrafts, food production, and community enterprises. While these entrepreneurs show remarkable resilience, many still need practical business, digital, and financial skills to grow their enterprises.

Through this partnership, the program connects women entrepreneurs and staff with skilled international volunteers who provide practical training, mentorship, and global perspectives by strengthening Project PEARLS’ ecosystem and its long-term impact.

What You’ll Do as a Volunteer in Baguio

In-person
program

The Volunteer Alliance Program takes place across Project PEARLS' communities in Metro Manila, in partnership with Project PEARLS. Together, we bring international professionals and local women entrepreneurs and staff together to strengthen business capacity, digital engagement, and organizational sustainability.

Volunteer engagement

Each volunteer joins for one week of in-person workshops and mentorship, supported by virtual onboarding, curriculum calls, and cultural preparation before arrival. This model allows professionals to create meaningful impact while contributing their expertise to women's economic empowerment and organizational capacity building.

Participant structure

Each volunteer cohort works alongside G.R.O.W. Women Entrepreneurs for most of the week, with one day dedicated to Project PEARLS Staff. Participants are actively involved in livelihood enterprises, community programs, and organizational operations, and are eager to strengthen their business, digital, financial, and organizational skills.

Curriculum & tools

Volunteers facilitate practical workshops and mentorship sessions covering digital marketing, branding, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, CRM, AI tools, monitoring & evaluation, cybersecurity, and other professional skills identified through a participant needs assessment. Every session is designed to provide practical tools participants can immediately apply within their businesses and organization.

Strategic impact

This program goes beyond delivering workshops, it strengthens Project PEARLS' broader ecosystem. By connecting women entrepreneurs and staff with experienced professionals, participants gain practical skills, international perspectives, stronger networks, and the confidence to build sustainable livelihoods and organizational systems that create long-term community impact.

Empowering Indigenous Youth Through Skills-Based Volunteering

Human-centered Design

We start by listening. Before the program begins, Project PEARLS runs interviews and a needs assessment with the women taking part, and V2I builds the curriculum around what comes back. Every participant fills out a profile so volunteers know who they're mentoring before they land.

Skilled-based Volunteering

Each week, 15 professionals from companies like Netflix, Salesforce, Google, Workday, DocuSign, and Apple bring expertise in marketing, finance, technology, and operations. Sessions are hands-on: exercises, simulations, and the real business problems participants are working through right now.

One-on-One Mentorship

Volunteers are matched with participants based on their professional background. This is where workshop content gets applied to one specific business, one pricing problem, one pitch. It runs both ways, and volunteers consistently say they learn as much as they teach.

Workshops with Impact

Every session is co-designed with Project PEARLS so it lands on what the community actually needs. We embed Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) to track progress in real time and carry what works into the following week.

Be Part of the Mission for 2027

In 2027, we’re bringing 45 skilled volunteers to Bulacan across three weeks to work with 15 to 20 women entrepreneurs and the Project PEARLS staff behind them. Rather than one-off training, the program is built as a single learning journey, with the same participants adding to what they learned the week before. The goal is straightforward: stronger businesses, more confident leaders, and an organization better equipped to keep scaling long after we’ve gone home.
