Venture 2 Impact partnered with DocuSign’s Social Impact team to engage employees in skills-based volunteer opportunities globally, where employees leverage their professional skill sets to support nonprofit organizations. The goal of the skills-based volunteering project is to support non-profit organizations whose missions are aligned with DocuSign while helping to scale their work and impact.
THE CHALLENGE
How might we support Greening Australia to update their Risk Management Framework and educate their staff on the advantages of risk management?

THE INNOVATION
Risk Management processes were in place at Greening Australia, however they required support in updating their framework and risk tools as well as educating their staff across the company on risk and risk management. Greening Australia has grown considerably since their establishment in 1982 and has a lot more to do to achieve their ambitious 2030 goals. Being able to manage their risks is critical to their success in developing this operational plan and achieving their goals.
DocuSign employees conducted a review of the current risk practices and frameworks at Greening Australia to fully understand what was already in place. The volunteers then developed a SWOT analysis, but ultimately suggested a Brown Cow model analysis as the best interpretation of the current Risk management process at Greening Australia. Not only did this model communicate the existing Risk Management Framework at Greening Australia and the challenges that the current system presents, but it was also revered as a new strategic model that the team at Greening Australia was interested in adapting to their own practices, after it was presented to the staff for feedback.
