Use your skills to support Viña del Mar’s entrepreneurs as they rebuild after a historic fire
In early February 2024, Viña del Mar, a coastal city in Chile, was severely impacted by wildfires that quickly spread through residential areas. This disaster, intensified by an extreme heatwave, resulted in over 130 deaths and left hundreds missing, making it Chile’s most devastating urban fire in the last thirty years.
Following the fires, the development of small businesses and entrepreneurial ventures in Viña del Mar has become critical for the community’s economic recovery and rebuilding. These efforts are essential for generating income, creating jobs, and investing in the future of the community. However, entrepreneurs in the area face several challenges as they work to grow their businesses in the aftermath of the fires.
Join us for a transformative volunteer opportunity in Viña del Mar, Chile, where we will work directly with entrepreneurs affected by the fires to help them overcome their biggest barriers through educational workshops and one-on-one mentoring sessions.
Entrepreneurs affected by the fires face a compounded set of challenges rooted in their current circumstances and the disaster’s aftermath, such as:
1. Extensive Infrastructure Loss
2. Rebuilding and Crisis Management
3. Insufficient Mentorship and Networking
4. Lack of Financial Literacy and Management Skills
If Selected, you can choose the time that works best for you.
Each date option includes 7 volunteer days. Travel to Chile will occur on Fridays and return on Saturdays.

At the core of our model lies the belief that your unique skills and expertise should be leveraged to make a meaningful impact in communities that lack access to those skills or can’t afford to pay for them.
As a well-educated and skilled professional, we believe that it is more fulfilling to use your energy and volunteering time to share your skills and build resilient communities rather than the alternative, which is usually going abroad to do something that’s not related to your skills at all (building a structure, painting, etc).
